Individual and Couples Psychotherapy
in Houston, Texas
I help people just like you find peace within and build healthier, more loving connections.
You've been carrying the weight of anxiety and exhaustion, quietly asking yourself,
"What else can I do?"You want to feel steady again. You want to set boundaries without guilt, rebuild trust with yourself, and find peace without losing what (or who) matters most.My clients are often navigating their own challenges with substance use, or have been impacted by someone else's use. My clients are folks who have found sobriety and recovery, and are seeking support for living sober. My clients may be seeking relief from anxiety or the struggles of a big life change. They come in seeking clarity, compassion, and space to finally breathe. Couples I work with in addiction recovery are searching for healing and stability. Our work together is rooted in connection. We'll slow things down, untangle the pressure you've been holding, and reconnect you with your own strength, values, and sense of calm. This work is about creating lasting shifts so you can move through life with more steadiness and self-trust.

Hi, I’m Rachel Evans, LCSW. I help individuals and couples untangle the complex, often painful impact of addiction, anxiety, and major life adjustments. Many of the people I work with are carrying the weight of their own recovery or someone else’s substance use, or may be struggling to find peace within themselves. Together, we work to rebuild trust, both in their relationships and in their own inner world.I use an integrated approach, utilizing tools and methods from various modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Mindful Self-Compassion. The quality of the therapeutic relationship is the greatest predictor of change, so I am committed to ensuring I am the right fit if we work together. I also believe that you are the expert on your life, and I am here to shine a light and hold a mirror, guiding you along the path of healing. My approach is warm, direct, and grounded in the present moment. I believe that healing starts with honesty, curiosity, and a willingness to look inward. I love working with clients who are ready to explore their patterns with compassion and who are open to creating more space, clarity, and calm in their lives. This work is deeply personal to me. I come from a family impacted by substance use and mental health struggles, and I know how hard it can be to make sense of your own experience when you're used to putting others first. People often tell me I’m a calm presence and a thoughtful listener who helps them feel both safe and challenged.Whether you're navigating a relationship that feels unsteady or learning how to show up more fully for yourself, I’m here to support you.
Good Faith Estimate NoticeUnder recently enacted federal law, healthcare providers need to give clients who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services. You have a right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy. This typically will not be an issue, as fees for therapy services are clear up front and payment is due after every session. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute that bill. For questions or more information about your right to a good faith estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.Many people ask if couples therapy is covered by insurance. In most cases, it is not. Insurance companies generally require that sessions focus on treating an identified individual with a mental health diagnosis, and that the treatment is considered “medically necessary.” Because couples therapy is centered on the relationship rather than one person’s diagnosis, it typically does not meet these requirements. I also only offer extended 85-minute couples sessions to help facilitate deep growth. For this reason, I do not bill insurance for couples sessions. All couples therapy is private-pay. This allows us to focus on your goals; improving communication, rebuilding trust, and strengthening your relationship, without the restrictions that come with insurance requirements. If you would like to use your insurance benefits for individual therapy, I do accept insurance for that service.
